  • Dear Shell,

Last Winter I used the clear plastic covering of my interior windows to prevent them from frosting over from the inside. The problem that I have is the removal of the two-sided tape that is used to secure the plastic to the window frames. The plastic removed O.K. but the tape remains on the frames. How can this be removed without removing the paint as well on the interior window frames?

    Thanks, Kevin

    Dear Kevin,

The adhesive residual is easily removed by applying contact cement thinners (solvent type) with a soft cloth. Saturate the area with thinners scrubbing lightly with a paintbrush. Remove with a soft cloth and rinse well with water.

    It’s just that easy
