Dear Shell, As a rookie I am acting as my own General Contractor for our new house. Somebody or I should say "nobody" somehow dropped a large item from the vaulted ceiling and made a large dent in the subfloor. It did not penetrate all the way through the wood, but very close to it. I am worried that the area may become "soft" as this is a high traffic area. Is there something I can apply to the floor to reinforce the area? Thanks, James Dear James, Fill the cavity with floor leveling compound available from flooring and building supply stores. If needed install a solid bridge block between the joists from below.
