  • Dear Shell,

Our kitchen sink garberator smells occasionally, even after I take off the rubber sink cap and clean it. Is there any daily maintenance I can do to prevent it from getting this odour?

    Thanks, Diane

    Dear Diane,

When you use lemon in your next recipe grind the lemon peels in the garberator. Another way is to take lemon juice and make ice cubes and put the ice cubes through the garberator. The reason for the odour is that you are not running enough water through the garberator after each grinding cycle. You should run the water for at least 15 to 30 seconds after grinding.

    It’s just that easy.
